Phil has been fascinated with physical fitness for his entire life. Having wrestled all his life, Phil spent his adolescents lifting weights so that he could excel in the sport he loved, wrestling. After high school he went to Arizona State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (study of body movements), while there Phil worked at the student recreation center as a personal trainer as an ACE and NASCM certified instructor. After college, Phil worked for Royal Caribbean as Sports Manager of multiple sports related teams. While at RCCL Phil spent his vacations basically living in a CrossFit gym, and after his tenure with Royal Caribbean, Phil became a certified CrossFit level I instructor, and decided to open his very own CrossFit gym.
Morning CrossFit Coach
Nicole is one of our morning coaches. She has been active in CrossFit for five years, and joined Factum as a coach in April 2018. Before she found CrossFit, Nicole played the forward position for the women's rugby team at Brigham Young University. Outside of the gym, Nicole enjoys hiking and long-distance running. If you're looking to start your day with a good CrossFit Workout, Nicole would love to see you there in the morning!
Eric "Lem" Lemmert
CrossFit - Gymnastics Coach
Lem joined Factum way back in 2013 as a fairly skinny member, he quickly added about 30 lbs of muscle and a love for all things CrossFit. He has since become a CrossFit Level I coach, and has passed the CrossFit Specialty Course: Gymnastics. Lem is a goal oriented individual; when we first me Lem, he was focused for months on getting his first ring muscle up, and can now do about 15 unbroken. Lem is our resident expert in all the gymnastic movements that CrossFit has: bar muscle ups, handstand walks, handstand pushups, chest-to-bar pullups and is excited to help you achieve your first muscle up too! When not in the gym, Lem can be seen hiking the valley, or at his full time job as a diesel mechanic.
Graham joined us from California back in 2017 and has established himself as one of the top mixed martial artists in Utah. He is young, talented and is a passionate fighter who is still very active in the fight world, boasting 6 MMA bouts since he moved here and many local NAGA championships. Graham cares tremendously about his students' progress as fighters and athletes.
Head Boxing Coach
Shon has been with us since June of 2019, and we could not be happier with him joining the team. His zeal for coaching is unmatched. Coming early, staying late, this Golden Glove State Champion loves imparting his wisdom on his athletes. Great at working the fundamentals, and for more advanced fighters, great at showing a few advanced techniques as well. If you come to a Shon Cross class, you WILL leave with more knowledge about boxing than you entered.
Head Jiu Jitsu Coach
Joe Martinez is a brown belt in jiu jitsu with over 15 years experience. Joe has won dozens of local and regional meets. Joe's reputation in the MMA and jiu jistu world is established and he has the respect of opposing coaches in every corner of the country. Joe's experience is top-rate, and the passion he has for jiu jitsu has inspired his members to do be their best.
Muay Thai Kickboxing Coach
Tyler joined us in June 2019, and we have been impressed ever since. Tyler came in boasting a 7-1 fight record, and he's a better coach than he is a fighter. Tyler's kickboxing class is a highlight of the week, and if you're not there, you are MISSING OUT. Tyler really knows his stuff and will make you a much better fighter.
Muay Thai Kickboxing Coach
Few coaches in Utah have more experience, or more talent than Bryan. Although retired from active fighting, Bryan worked his way through the kickboxing ranks to fight, and win on the highest stage when he fought for Glory Kickboxing. Raised in Louisiana, this Cajun brought his talents to Utah, and Factum is the beneficiary. Bryan and his brother Tyler head our kickboxing program, the best program in the state
RJ came to us in June of 2018, and has been nothing but excellent since he got here. 3 years ago RJ was 100 lbs overweight and decided to switch things up. RJ went plant-based for his diet and peppered in some regular CrossFit every day, and is not cut from stone. His journey has been remarkable to watch. RJ always wants to learn, if there's something he doesn't know, he will seek out knowledge until he's got it. His zeal for fitness is fantastic, and he wants to impart that wisdom on the members of Factum. Come join RJ every evening
Brian is a great coach and a great person. Brian is a gifted boxer, and has a new found passion for coaching. Brian holds down the morning class, and is excited to teach one of the quietest classes of the day for us. Come to his early morning boxing class and you will get TONS of one-on-one time with this fantastic coach.
